Investigation at the Theater

At about twenty after 11:00 p.m., the GRIPS group gathered at the Cinema 6. The members present were John, Melissa, Dee, Leha and Linda. A darkened theater promised a bit of excitement for us, such an open and unique location. It had been arranged by a couple of members that worked for the management, they reported they felt as if someone was watching when they worked. We did not expect anything just a wonderful chance to practice our teamwork and get a chance to use the equipment.
Once the five of us were inside, it was pointed out that in about a mere 30 minutes it would be Friday the 13th. That alone set a fun mood to the investigation. We looked forward to try our "luck" in the deserted theater.
Melissa was assigned the duty to speak and ask questions, while the rest of us were to handle the EMFs meters, temperature gauges and cameras. It had been decided that it would be best if only one person spoke, the idea being that if there was something or someone there they would feel more comfortable to respond if they weren't bombarded by too many questions or voices. Melissa has a mild and gentle tone to her voice, that was friendly and that sounded inviting.
The lights in all the theaters were set at about half-power. Flashlights added to these was enough to see safely.
We began in #3, where something low and shy was supposed to be. After about fifteen minutes we got nothing, no response of any kind. Moving across the hall to #4, we continued to walk around with the devices, each investigator staying in site of another. Questions were steadily asked, and once again no answer. Sensing a lull in the situation, Linda suggested that a sign should be showed if someone was there.
The lights suddenly flickered. Everyone one froze and agreed that the lights had indeed blinked. John reassured all, that there was one else in the building but us.
Once again Missy began with basic questions and again the lights shimmered in what appeared as response to the more simple inquiries. It was suggested that perhaps what ever was responding was confused by a more complicated query.
At this time a beep was heard, John thought it was the sound of the check-in at the time clock computer. No one was scheduled to work that night and we couldn't locate anyone else in the Cinema. The room upstairs with the projectors was a huge open area. Easy to see anyone there.
All the lights in all six theaters were set at the same brightness. Though in #1 the lights were nearly off when the five of us entered, then they actually came on full and then went back down to about half-light. We all were thrilled, though it was a personal experience and no way could be prove that it happened. We only know what we saw.
Each person had an experience unique to them, Leha saw a figure on the wall in the hall. Melissa heard what she believed to be a child's voice and saw a darting shadow in the hallway.
We all noted the great difference in temperature between the various theaters. Four was warm, One was very cold. At first the theory was that the ones that shared a wall with the store next door were the ones that were warmer, but John explained which were which and that theory did not fall into place with the layout.
Dee and Missy suggested we sit and form a circle of energy in one of the theaters to draw what ever was there. It may have been the lateness of the ..night or just the fact that the excitement of the night was waning, but we all reported as we sat different happenings we were experiencing.
Some felt as if the air had become thick and heavy. Others stated they felt that they had headaches. The main feeling was that we were ready to end the investigation. It was now 1:00 in the morning of the new Friday the 13th.
Each of us had much to think about and we agreed to come back another night to see if happens could be repeated.

GRIPS at the Theater

GRIPS revisited the theater about two weeks later. Unfortunately there were employees there that night and the noise and movement by quite a lot of people made it much harder to investigate. We had Missy, Kelli, JP, Eric, Dee, Linda present as well as Josh, would was there to a possible member.. He was assigned to take pictures and did indeed do a very good job.
We got no real responses to questions, too much human activity. Though orbs were photographed.
Also we left with a chuckle that maybe just maybe, it had been decided to have an employee movie night, just for them to get a look at the crazy people that were trying to hunt ghosts, If nothing else we got over feeling self-conscience in front of anyone. After all we are a team and there is strength in numbers. Ya right.

A face of a lamb or calf seems to appear against a seat in the theater. The building had been built on the site of the Hawkeye Stock Farm. So is it a animal spirit or just a funny wear spot on the fabric seat in the lower right? It has what looks like eyes and big floppy ears
