GRIPS Bylaws

  • Membership dues are currently $20.00 / year and are due on October 31st of each year.

  • Members will meet once a month on Tuesday of the first week of the month at 7:00 p.m.

  • Meeting currently at Carnegie-Stout Public Library, 360 W. 11th Street in Dubuque, Iowa. Investigations may alter meetings, due to the locality of sites and time scheduled by clients (you will be notified of any changes).

  • The co-founders will review all applicants on a non-bias level. Each possible candidate will be notified of any opening in the organization. If an opening is available, the new associate will be allowed to engage in a probationary period to allow the co-founders and other senior members a chance to evaluate his or her skill and ability.

  • Each member will have the opportunity to go on investigations and bring new ideas and theories to use in the research of the paranormal.

  • Members will at all times work in teams of two or more. This will provide safety and allow validation of research findings. Any breech of this rule will result in termination. Unless a review by the co-founders of GRIPS rule it was justified due to the situation.

  • As an added safety measure, it is recommended that each investigator should say a prayer at the beginning of an investigation, as well as at the conclusion, to prevent an unseen force the ability to follow members beyond the site. Any member may choose not to participate at their own risk.

  • At no time are speculations or theories to be discussed outside of the organization. Any items needed to be revealed to the client will be done by the co-founders or an appointed representative of GRIPS.

  • All investigations are to be done with the greatest respect to the clients, the client’s property and confidentially. Professional conduct will be used in all investigative areas. Threatening or vulgar gestures or words will not be allowed when dealing with the paranormal. Respect for all will be the main stay of GRIPS.

  • Investigators are to use truth in all reports. Equipment is not to be tampered with or altered in anyway.

  • All members have read and understand the Bylaws of the Great River Investigative Paranormal Society. Each associate of the club has agreed to follow the GRIPS bylaws to the best of their abilities.
